Proof of Presence
When every word is delegated,
polish stops signaling effort — it signals absence.
A pristine, perfectly formatted message costs nothing,
so it carries no weight.
We used to judge an unpolished thought.
Now, a flawless, instant reply just feels empty —
a beautiful shell of words,
with no one behind it.
As effortless perfection becomes the default,
the unedited, slightly messy response
will no longer feel unpolished —
becoming the quiet proof that someone
actually gave you their time,
the very thing we will crave.
It will feel like a luxury.
